In efforts to promote the release of an exclusive light lager, the two companies Draughtsman Aleworks and Stinner Frameworks are hosting the first "Perseverance" event. There will be food by Nimita Cruise, music by Last Resort Forever, and Galaxy Gold Sprints to raise money for Galaxy Cycling, a Santa Barbara coaching program for entry level cyclists to elite level athletes starting with junior women and men. Galaxy Cycling supports cycling with a comprehensive approach to racing, competing, and training in order to provide young athletes of all levels support to achieve their best.
“I want to promote all aspects of cycling and training. We felt that a good way to raise awareness and have some fun was to create the Galaxy Gold Sprint challenge at Draughtsmen during the Perseverance launch with Stinner, one of the main sponsors of the Galaxy program,” said, Soren Molina, founder and coach for Galaxy Cycling.
Galaxy sprints are similar to bicycle roller racing. They use bikes on fork stands so that the riders don't have to balance, only pedal as fast as they can. This provides an easy way for anyone to try galaxy sprints. Two Track bikes get hooked up to trainers - the forks lock in the front and the rear wheel spins on rollers. Enter the bracket for $10 and you'll race for 60 seconds. Your speed and results are projected on a screen behind you for the crowd to see and cheer you on. As you win the 1-on-1 matches, you progress deeper into the bracket. The races are short, simple, quick, and fun. Competitors can be anyone. Wear whatever you have on. This is a race for all racers. The slow riders and fast riders equally encouraged. The goal is to have as much fun as possible! All money raised will support the Galaxy Cycling programs.
